There is significant evidence that gardening has many positive effects on our physical health and emotional well-being. However, some of us are faced with challenges as we age, such as physical limitations and downsized accommodation. At Pottering & Co we can tailor a variety of activities to your capabilities and living spaces, so you can "keep your hands in the dirt" and enjoy the positive benefits of gardening.
Do you have an established garden that has become unmanageable for you?
While we're more than happy to arrange a complete clean up of your garden to make it more manageable and safe, we'd really like to potter with you and focus on the things that you’d like to do and need help with. You might have successfully grown beautiful roses for years and still enjoy deadheading but you're now finding hard pruning and the clean-up difficult. We'd love to do the pruning and clean-up while we chat all things roses with you. Perhaps it's time to scale down your garden to keep your independence - we can assist you in lowering your maintenance and create a few fabulously showy container gardens with you, that become the new focal point of your garden.
Have you or a loved one downsized or moved into aged care?
Maybe you have previously enjoyed tending to a large vegetable garden and would appreciate a container garden filled with tomatoes and herbs. Perhaps you are really fond of the smell of gardenias. Or perhaps you would love an indoor plant and would benefit from the addition of greenery in your living space. We can consult with the retirement village strata or care facility and see if there is an opportunity and space for us to create a container garden for you. Depending on your plant knowledge and capabilities, we can either leave you to look after a container garden, or we can regularly visit and share the experience of caring for your plants with you.
