Designer and maker Louise Martiensen started her ceramic journey over 15 years ago after falling in love with ceramics while studying at university. Louise started making her own pottery to play around with techniques and make pieces that were different to anything else she had seen.
"We believe in the power of thoughtful design to make our lives better."
Louise now runs LouiseM Studio, a ceramics studio in Marrickville, in Sydney. Working mainly with porcelain, her pieces are created in small batches utilising the slip-casting technique as a base, and adding to each piece with individual colouring, carving, pressing or glazing techniques, resulting in each one being unique.
